Entry #5 College Degree

I think it is very important to be able to go to school. I know for my parents it was a dream for all their kids to be able to go to a college and university and be able to graduate. Although my brothers did not go to college my sister did. My parents were never offered the opportunity to go to college or a university. School was not a main priority for them. For them and their families they had to go to work at such a young age.

My parents explain how their future could have been different if they would have gone to school. That is why they have such high hopes for us to have an education and have a job that we truly love. They do not want us to struggle as they did as they were kids working in the farm and in the fields.

I truly believe that education is key. Since my parents have worked so hard I do wish to do my best to provide a better future for myself and for them. Although I understand that school is not for everyone I do believe that school can be helpful even if it's just a Highschool diploma. A small degree is better than no degree at all. But it would also be great to be able to obtain that career you want with a college degree. Education is a great way to open opportunities.

Ducey explains in his article "Ducey: Why Arizona needs more college grads" how important it is for more graduates to finish college. I can agree with this the more knowledge you gain the better.
