Entry #8: Phone Breakup

It is so crazy how we are so attached to our phones. I know I am guilty of not being able to spend a day without my phone. I think it is very important for us to sometimes detach ourselves from our phones and take a look around. We should really enjoy the moment and take it all in. Especially when it comes to being with family and friends. There are times when I go out and I see friends or families having lunch and most of them are on their phones. I think it is crazy since there isn’t any communication between them.
I am not saying that phones are bad because they do help us out in many things. What I am saying is that it is important that we limit ourselves to the usage of phones. There is a time and place to use them. I feel like when it come to spending time with our family or friends we should put them away. When we are not doing anything then that is when it is appropriate to use them.
I have to also find a way to be able to limit the time I spend on my phone and really spend more time and enjoy what is happening at the moment.

  1. I agree as well, with the whole detachment thing, I try to find things to do that don't require me being on my phone or computer. But I just find myself watching TV anyways so it is hard to stay away from technology when it is all around us. Nice post!(:

  2. This is definitely something I personally struggle with and find difficult to limit. Someone weeks I do really good and others I do poorly. My favorite new feature on iphone is the weekly and daily screen time reports, my goal is always to shave at least 5 minutes of from the previous day.
